Information design and ethnography - literature review
This literature review examines the relationship between information design and ethnography, exploring past and current practices along with future opportunities and problems of this partnership. Literature is utilized to explain how ethnography allows observation of behavioural patterns and underlying structures of communities at micro and macro level, while information design can make sense of, and communicate, these findings. This relationship may communicate significant information influential in understanding human behaviour. Increasing this understanding benefits societies by aiding development of services, products and social movements. Simultaneously, the presentation of people-centred information creates a space for discourse, allowing for debate and discovery.
